multicolour blanket skirt

This product is sold out

This wild skirt from TRICOT COMME DES GARCONS was produced in 2000 and made from a thick wool blanket fabric. The fabric features a bright, multicoloured yarn-dyed check in shades of orange, yellow, red, green, and blue. A number of misshapen panels have been added which run down the length of the skirt, creating enormous volume throughout the body and distorting the check pattern throughout. White is used as a contrast for many of the skirt's key details, most noticeably two large exposed zip pockets which sit at the waist and the button closure at the side seam. The use of white as a contrast continues on the inside of the garment, facings finished using a soft white cotton with red contrast stitching and the white fusing along the panel seams left exposed. Due to the extra volume from the panels the skirt is extremely wide at the hem, causing it to fall into soft folds and shift beautifully in motion. The hem of the skirt is left unfinished, with a 1cm topstitch to prevent it fraying excessively.
