Regular price $140.00

Hardcover photo book by japanese photographer masao ohta, comprising large and striking images of leaves which have fallen and been absorbed into the earth. The frames feel very still, and largely feel autumnal or wintery. In a number of instances water droplets have been captured resting on the leaves.

The start of the book includes five very short reflective essays in japanese and english; "the fascination of fallen leaves" by yoshio watanabe (japan association of photographers), "the beauty of decaying leaves" by magoichi kushida (essayist), "beauty of fallen leaves" by ikko tanaka (graphic artist), "prelude of the falling leaves" by junji ito (art critic), and "of death and reincarnation: paying homage to a sentimental passionist, masao ohta" by nobuyuki odajima (naturalist).

Condition is decent used: outer cardboard case is in poor condition, with marking and several tears, and there is moderate yellowing to the dust jacket (see pictures). Book itself in good condition.
