Presented here an incredible cotton blazer from MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA line 6. Produced in a crisp gray cotton, the blazer is double layered at the front on both sides, so that there are four front pieces in total which are joined at the lapels. Three of the four front pieces have buttonholes and one has buttons, allowing the jacket to be buttoned like a regular blazer or alternatively to button one or more layers but leave others open. In addition, the double layered front creates room for several concealed interior pockets, which are sandwiched between the outer and inner front pieces. Only the outline of an interior breast pocket can be seen from the outside, and what appear to be two horizontal waist pockets on the outside of the jacket are in fact just slits which provide access to the actual waist pockets on the inner layer. Accordingly, this garment is an excellent example both of MMM's interest in exploring and playing with construction and patternmaking, as well as the incredible intricacy and attention to detail of the Maison's work.
It should be noted there is moderate fading from wear due to the nature of the cotton fabric.
