town scene print shirt dress

This product is sold out

A cream shirt dress from ISSEY MIYAKE line I.S. (formerly "ISSEY SPORT"), a line designed by Japanese desgner Tsumori Chisato from 1977 to 1990. The dress is almost full length, with a shirt style 11 button front that ends in a convertible collar. There is a buttoned pocket at the left breast, a self fabric belt that allows the dress to be cinched at the waist, and an unusual town scene which has been printed onto the bottom two thirds of the dress. It depicts a small village, with clay roofed buildings, trees, grass, wildflowers, and what appears to be a river flowing in from the coast. The dress flares significantly from the waist, which means that some of the town scene is hidden when the dress is hanging flat but portions are revealed when it is in motion.

The dress is in good vintage condition, but has some piling and one or two minor marks (see pictures).
