multi fabric embroidered blazer

This product is sold out

A black wool blazer by COMME DES GARCONS HOMME PLUS. Made in 1989, it has a two button front placket with a low break point, notch lapels, and two flap pockets at the waist with a welt pocket at the breast. The front of the blazer is made using a number of vertical panels, each of which is fabricated in a different black wool textile to create a subtle and unusual interplay of textures. The front panel lines are embroidered with thick topstitching thread, creating additional texture on top of the multiple fabrics. The back by contrast is kept plain, made entirely from the same flat, worsted wool also used for the sleeves, front flap pockets, and lapels. As was typical for COMME DES GARCONS tailoring throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s, the blazer is cut long but boxy, with thick, padded shoulders.
