sleeveless drawstring blouse

This product is sold out

This incredible sleeveless blouse, produced by COMME DES GARCONS in 2001, appears unremarkable until you examine it closely. It is sleeveless, has a relatively simple shape, and is made from a humble poly / cotton fabric. But when you look closer, you notice that the neckline and several other panels have been left unfinished, so that as the garment tag notes "the raw edges will fray with repeated wear and cleaning." And most interesting of all is the drawstring hidden on the inside of the garment, which runs over the front and around the back neck, and when tightened allows the wearer to distort and twist the blouse's shape. This means the garment can be worn both as a more or less normal, conventional top or bunched and asymmetrical. The finishing of the blouse is as to be expected, with a sturdy metal zip concealed at the side and a high level of construction throughout.
