raw hem raglan blazer

This product is sold out

Presented here a beautiful COMME DES GARCONS blazer, produced in 1994 in a crisp, black wool gabardine. It has a five button front, high, small collar, and angled flap pockets at the breast and waist. The sleeve is a gentle raglan, and there are gussets at the underarm which allow extra freedom of movement. It is exquisitely finished throughout, cleanly on the outside and with bound seams inside, except for the hem which has been left deliberately unfinished and allowed to fray. The restraint shown here, to leave only one seam raw rather than several, produces a beautiful, striking contrast, almost giving the impression the garment was a longer coat that has been cut off.
