ribbed short sleeve top

This product is sold out

A short sleeve top by ISSEY MIYAKE, produced as part of both his A.P.O.C. and Pleats Please lines. A.P.O.C., which stands for "A Piece of Cloth", starts with tubes of fabrics made on knitting machines which can be cut in several places to produce multiple garments in different shapes, lengths, and styles. These cut lines on the tube are what gives this top its distinct, villi-esque edges, which mark where this garment was cut and where else it could be. For example, the cut line a little above the hem means the top could be cut shorter. This top is also produced as part of Miyake's well known Pleats Please line, which is largely garments made from heat set, pleated polyester and which accounts for this top's unusual, ridged fabric. Perhaps because of these unusual and striking details, the design of the top is simple, with a round neck, short sleeves, and straight cut through the body.

Unknown, probably polyester.
