This elegant dress by JIL SANDER is made from a substantial cotton velvet with a moderate pile and a soft, sumptuous handle. It is produced here in a deep, rich black with a beautiful luster. The dress is long and full, with long sleeves and a high, rectangular neck. Perhaps most striking of all is the sheer back panel, which is made of a fine, gauzy fabric which is left open at the waist. This opening can be closed via two extra long ties which are cut from the same gauzy material, and can be twisted into intricate knots or left to trail gently down the back of the dress.
