Peter Storm 1997 red W1 proofed wool rib knit waterproof beanie
A red wool beanie by british outdoor company peter storm (1997), made in their "715" watchcap style. It is made in a rib knit pattern with natural mechanical stretch, and has been treated with peter storm's W1 proofing, which makes the surface of the beanie waterproof without reducing wool's absorbent qualities. A 2002 peter storm product list describes the 715 watchcap beanie as follows: "perfect warm and water repellent head wear in the traditional watchcap design. Made long enough so that the brim can be pulled down over the ears in extremely cold conditions".
Decent condition, with a hole at the top of the beanie (see picture 8). Please note that although fibres / surface of fabric is waterproof, water may still get through gaps in the knit over time.
