Black velvet evening dress by french designer corinne cobson (circa 1990s). Made from a mix of rayon and silk, the surface has an all-over leopard pattern (as in, repeating silhouettes of leopards as opposed to a leopard print) created using a technique called devore or 'burnout' in which sections of the fabric are chemically burnt off. The dress is nipped in at the waist, with a fairly high neckline at the front and a semi-open back.
