A mesh tshirt by comme des garcons (1997). The torso is made from 5 layers of nylon, turning what is a sheer material into a mostly non-sheer garment. The four outermost layers are cut in the shape of a singlet, with the innermost cut in the shape of a tshirt. The result is that the wearer’s arms are covered to the point at which they would be in an ordinary tshirt, but are simultaneously visible due to the sheer material. the layers are sewn to each other at the shoulders only meaning they will shift about, and most of the edges have been left unfinished and sewn inside out so that they are visible.
